Physical Properties of a Red Tiger’s Eye

Family: Quartz

Color and Appearance: Red tiger’s eye has dark red and black bands throughout, with a polished, reflective surface. When the stone is tilted back and forth, the reflections can look like the reflections of an eye. The red tiger’s eye is sometimes called a dragon’s eye because of this effect. Its appearance is similar to a brown or gold tiger’s eye, except its red color comes from the oxidization of iron.

Red Tiger’s Eye Crystal Meaning

Red tiger’s eye is a variation of the gold tiger’s eye, so it carries some of the same meanings. Red tiger’s eye can be used to build self esteem or self confidence. The red color can give you an extra boost when you’re using the crystal for inspiration, focus and concentration.

Red Tiger’s Eye Crystal Benefits

The red tiger’s eye crystal can be used for lots of different goals. It’s most often used for confidence, motivation and creativity. The stone can also:

Boost Your Motivation

The red color of the stone can make you feel stimulated and excited. Placing a crystal at your workstation can help keep your energy high. Any time you feel your interest waning, you can hold your stone and let the vibrations motivate and excite you.

Light Up Your Creativity

If you’re feeling dull, a red tiger’s eye can stimulate your creativity. If you need ideas, this crystal can help. Meditating for even a few minutes while you hold your crystal can open your mind to new ideas.

For a fast and easy meditation, take a few deep breaths, close your eyes and focus on the energy of the red tiger’s eye. Ask your crystal to open your mind to new ideas and inspiration. Let the energy flow and when you open your eyes, you might find a new approach to an old problem.

Help With Focus and Concentration

As part of the quartz family, red tiger’s eye is a good stone to help you stay grounded. If you’re struggling to focus, try carrying a red tiger’s eye crystal in your pocket. When you need to concentrate, hold the stone in your left hand and ask it to help you stay focused on the task at hand.

Build Your Confidence

The crystal can also boost your confidence. If you’re feeling worried or insecure, try wearing a piece of jewelry made of red tiger’s eye. The subtle energy of the stone will give your self esteem a boost.

Red Tiger’s Eye Chakras

The red tiger’s eye can be used to work with either the sacral chakra or the solar plexus chakra. Don’t try to do both at once. Choose only one chakra to work with at a time.

Working With the Sacral Chakra

When your sacral chakra is balanced, you’ll have healthy emotions and intimate relationships. You’ll feel inspired, energetic and creative.

If this chakra is blocked or slow, you might find yourself overwhelmed with emotions. Or you might have trouble forming close relationships. If you feel dull or uninspired, working with your sacral chakra could help.

Working With the Solar Plexus Chakra

The solar plexus chakra is related to personal power, will and taking action. When this chakra is balanced, you’ll feel confident and in control of your life. You’ll be comfortable in leadership roles and you’ll relate well with others.

If you have difficulty being in charge of yourself or others, you may want to work on balancing your solar plexus chakra. Meditating with a red tiger’s eye stone is a great ways to work with your chakras.

How to Meditate With Red Tiger’s Eye

One of my favorite ways to balance my chakras is with meditation. Visualizing clear and smooth chakras is a great way to rebalance my energy. Adding a crystal always takes my meditations to the next level.

If you’d like to try working with your chakras, red tiger’s eye is a wonderful crystal to start with. You can find the stone in all different shapes and sizes. Find one that’s easy to hold or place on your body. Then try meditating with the crystal to balance your chakras.

1. Choose Your Meditation Pose

Sit on a folded blanket or yoga mat in the Lotus Pose. If you can’t hold the Lotus Pose for 11 minutes, it’s ok to choose another one. You can simply sit cross legged or lie down on your mat. If you can’t lie flat, you can sit upright in a chair. Once you’ve settled into your meditation pose, set your timer for 11 minutes.

2. Relax and Breathe Deeply

Hold your red tiger’s eye in your left hand to receive the positive energies. If you’re lying down, you can place the crystal on one of your chakras.

The sacral chakra is your center for creativity, money, sexuality and joy. If you want the stone to work with this chakra energy, you can put your Red Tiger’s Eye on your tummy, a few inches below your belly button.

The solar plexus chakra affects your willpower, confidence and ability to take action. If you’re having problems with low self esteem or staying motivated, try working with this chakra.

The solar plexus chakra spins in the space between your belly button and breast bone. If you want to work with this energy, place your red tiger’s eye on your tummy, a few inches above your belly button.

3. Visualize Your Chakra

The word chakra comes from the Sanskrit word for wheel. You can picture your chakra as a spinning wheel of energy. When it’s balanced, it spins smoothly and quietly. The color will be vivid and uniform.

If you’re working with the sacral chakra, visualize it as a brilliant, spinning orange disc. If you’re working with the solar plexus chakra, picture a sunny yellow disc that’s spinning smoothly.

Relax and let yourself feel the energy of your chakra. If it’s not spinning smoothly, let the tiger’s eye energy soothe it and bring it into a steady rhythm.

Next, notice the color. It should be bright and uniform. If it seems dull or spotty, ask your red tiger’s eye to clear it. Sometimes the chakra can be over-energized and the color might flare or spark. If your chakra does this, you can ask your red tiger’s eye to calm it.

Your crystal can also brighten up the color. Ask it, then watch in your mind’s eye as the stone’s energy clears away any dull or dark spots.

Once you can picture your chakra spinning bright and smooth, spend the rest of the meditation enjoying the feeling of wellness and contentment.

Carry Your Red Tiger’s Eye Stone With You

Once you’ve balanced your chakras, you might want to carry your red tiger’s eye with you for the next few days. Any time you see or touch the stone, you’ll be reminded of the work you’ve done and it’ll reinforce those feelings of serenity and wellness.

As well, the vibrations from the red tiger’s eye can help your chakra to stay balanced. Having the stone with you will keep it’s healing energy close.

How to Choose Your Red Tiger’s Eye

When you’re choosing your red tiger’s eye, think about how you’ll be using it. If you’ll be meditating with it, you might want a beautiful polished stone that feels good in your hand. Or you might want one that’s flat and easy to balance, if you’ll be placing it on your body.

If you want to bring it’s energy with you everywhere you go, think about buying some jewelry. Wearing your stone as jewelry can keep those healing vibes with you all day long.
