Belief

Some of you know that my father was my spiritual mentor. What you may not know is that he was also a healer. Dad was a remarkably passionate Doctor of Chiropractic who assisted many souls to healthier living. He had the pleasure of personally hearing many satisfied patients express their gratitude to him over his 30 years in practice; however, there were many others whom he helped but did not have the pleasure of knowing or hearing from, because his patients extended way beyond his humble Glen Ellyn clinic. You see, he wrote a weekly health column for the Chicago Tribune.

I recently met someone from that time, and she told me how much those weekly columns meant to her and her family. Her story took me back in time to when I was a young girl playing on the floor of my father’s study watching him write on his big yellow legal pad at his desk with his fancy pen. I can still smell his old black leather desk chair…

I have decided to carry on my father’s legacy, and write a weekly column. Forty years later, my medium is vastly different–the internet. However, my intention is the same: to provide a public service towards improving the health and wellness of my readers and their friends and families. Topics for the week will be purely inspired by Divine Source. I trust my spiritual elders will guide me to write about what is most useful for you at any particular time. These are remarkable times we are living in right now. My hope is to give you food for your soul as we travel this incredible journey together. Please feel free to forward my messages to anyone you feel may be assisted by them…

As I sit here contemplating this first article to you, we are in the midst of our first snowfall of the season! Looking out my own study window at the beautiful fluffy white flakes swirling and billowing across the rooftops, I realize something. The snow conjures up feelings positive and feelings negative…

You see, from inside my safe haven here, I can joyously appreciate the magical beauty of our first snowfall. Yet once I leave my safe haven, the skin on my face will be bombarded with icy cold pellets thrown at me by the strong, gusty wind. My feelings will probably shift from joyous to, well, not so joyous about our first snowfall…

The cause has not changed, the effect has. The snowfall is still the same, whether I’m viewing it from inside or outside. Yet my feelings and belief drastically change…

Why is this? Key word: Belief.

I’ve been doing a lot of reading lately on manifestation as I’m preparing for an upcoming workshop. We will be using some of the tools from the book I’m currently reading – Esther and Jerry HicksAsk and It Is Given. It’s a fascinating read which I highly recommend on the subject, as Esther channels an entity known as ‘Abraham’ to teach the theory of The Law of Attraction. They basically teach principals such as keeping our thoughts positive, keeping our feelings and associations positive and to plant the seeds of our desires into the flow…then someday, voila! Your heart’s desires manifest…

I believe in this–because I’ve used it and it works. Just recently, I had a surprise health issue and subsequently large medical bill and wasn’t sure how I would pay for it, because it had to be paid in cash. This initially brought up some strong fear and anxiety which caused me to toss and turn one night. The next day, I set in motion the principals of manifestation. I simply scribbled on a piece of paper the next morning over coffee:  “The universe provides the money I need, to pay this bill now.” The next day I received a phone call from a client I haven’t seen in a long while and she said she’d like to pay up front for my services! This was a total surprise and just perfect! Well, almost–I was still short $50. So I then re-affirmed my original affirmation with a necessary adjustment: “The universe provides the money I need to pay this bill in full now.” Later that day, I drove to the bank to make my deposit. When the receipt was returned to me, I noticed the balance wasn’t correct. So, I asked the teller about this and she said the bank was running a promotion this month and I earned a reward. Yes, there was the additional $50!!!

My father also used this way back in the 70’s. He read authors such as Napoleon Hill, Think and Grow Rich, and was also a member of a “Mastermind Group.” He firmly believed in and actively used these techniques of positive thinking, creative visualization and focused group energy. As he began the workday at his office, he would set his goals for the day and sit and imagine the day as he desired it to be and then simply affirmed, ’and so it is.’ This helped him manifest his very successful practice and, well, life. He was living the life of his dreams–for the most part. And what about those parts that don’t manifest?

I believe a very significant key is missing in most of the manifestation techniques we read about and are using. Tools such as visualizing, affirmations, group meditation, vision boards, prayer, etc. ARE powerful and DO work–to a certain extent. I believe the missing element is…our negative subconscious beliefs.Negative subconscious beliefs sabotage our ability to be prosperous, even when we use affirmations, etc. We pick up these negative beliefs from our well-intentioned parents, religious figures and teachers. I also believe we can carry these negative core beliefs from past lifetimes. I know for myself, that I once lived a religious life in which I took a vow of poverty. So, you see, we can create beliefs which are counterproductive to achieving our heart’s desires, and in this case, wealth and financial freedom.

Sample Negative Beliefs:

~ Money is evil
~ Poverty is a virtue
~ I can never be financially independent

You may recognize yourself there or these may trigger your own. Either way, what’s important is to identify what it is so that we can delete the negative belief that is holding us back and create a new positive belief that can move us forward.

Sample Positive Beliefs:

~ Money is just another form of energy
~ I can make all the money I need doing a job that I love
~ I deserve to have all the money I need to support myself

So, how do we make this change in our subconscious mind?

There are a few different techniques I use with my clients to delete the negative beliefs and create the new positive beliefs. One is through Kahuna ARCH Hawaiian Healing.  This is an amazing hands-on energy medicine technique. It is similar to Reiki, yet much more powerful–often with instantaneous results. Once you receive just one treatment, you will take home a potent tool you can use yourself at home.

The other technique I use is called Psych-K. This method specifically rewrites the software of your brain which creates a new printout of your life! Again, with just one session, you will learn a very valuable tool which you can use anywhere, anytime…

So, if you feel like you’ve tried affirmations and visualizations and prayers and are not getting the results you want, it may be that your subconscious mind is holding you back. Moreover, if the desire you hold is not in alignment with your own personal belief, it will not manifest. It’s that simple. This is the missing link.

So the question of the week is, what are YOUR negative subconscious beliefs which are keeping you from YOUR heart’s desires?

Warmest Heart Blessings to each of you,
Colleen
